What the Test Checks
Most football IQ quizzes are trivia. This one is about what a quarterback has to see: how many defenders are deep, whether it is man or zone, which defender a concept is built to stress, and where the ball goes once that defender commits.
The diagrams are the same ones Crucible uses in its simulator. Every question shows you the tell to look for, so a wrong answer still teaches you something.
Getting Better at It
Reading a diagram is easier than reading a defense moving at you. The fastest way to close that gap is reps: see the coverage, make the throw, find out right away if you were right. That is what the simulator is for.
Common Questions
How long is the football IQ test?
The tackle version has 15 questions and the flag version 9. Most people finish in five to ten minutes.
Is the football IQ test the same as the NFL quarterback test?
No. Teams give draft prospects their own tests, like the S2 Cognition test. This one checks football knowledge: coverages, routes and reads.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and nothing is saved anywhere except your own browser.
