formation
Double Formation (2x2)
Double (2x2) puts two receivers on each side with a back in the backfield. You can run a concept to each side and read whichever one the coverage favors.

How Double Lines Up
In Crucible's Double, two receivers line up to each side (the tight end counts as one) with the back next to the QB in the shotgun. The tight end side is the strength, and Double Left or Right is named for it.
What It Does to a Defense
- Balance: the defense can't cheat to one side, which makes coverage shells easier to read.
- Crucible's Double plays pair a one-high concept with a two-high one, such as Curl with Snag or Hitch with Option or Tosser, so the MFC (one-high) or MFO (two-high) look picks the side.
How to Read It
Read the safeties first: MFC (one high) or MFO (two high). Then pick the side whose concept is built for that look.
