# Sail Route

A sail is an intermediate out-breaking route, rounding toward the sideline at about 12 yards in Crucible's diagram. It is the middle level of Crucible's Sail concept, with a deep pogo route over the top and an option route at about 6 yards underneath.

## How the Sail Is Run

Usually from an inside alignment, the receiver pushes upfield and rounds toward the sideline, gaining a little depth through the break. Throw it to the sideline, away from inside defenders.

## What It Beats

- Cover 3, in the space between the deep-third corner and the Curl/Flat defender.
- Cover 2 Tampa, in the sideline hole behind the cloud corner.
